Chesterfield's bid for a top-three National League finish was hampered as they were held to a goalless draw by mid-table Maidenhead.
The Spireites remain in fourth, a place and point below Woking as they saw their three-game winning run come to an end and failed to take advantage of their game in hand over the Cards.
Chesterfield almost took a 10th-minute lead when Andrew Dallas' cross from the left bounced off the crossbar after being swept away by the wind.
And Alexis Andre then had to save smartly in the Maidenhead goal after Ryan Colclough turned his man and fired goalwards.
Shawn McCoulsky had Maidenhead's best chance five minutes after the break but could only fire over from six yards out.
Dallas then wasted a golden chance to win it for the Spireites but fired wide after rounding Andre.
