Ayr United 1-1 Greenock Morton: Title hopefuls held by 10-man visitors
- Published
Ayr United missed a chance to put pressure on the Scottish Championship leaders as they were held at home by 10-man Greenock Morton.
The visitors took the lead early in the second half at Somerset Park when Calum Waters' cross beat goalkeeper Charlie Albinson and sailed in at the far post.
Ayr hit back in the 62nd minute, Frankie Musonda heading home.
But the hosts could not find a winner despite Morton's George Oakley being shown a second yellow.
The draw keeps Ayr in fourth, one point behind Partick Thistle and four adrift of leading pair Dundee and Queen's Park.
Morton drop a place to sixth, six points off Ayr with a game in hand.
