Notts County 3-0 Woking

  • Published

Notts County kept the pressure on National League leaders Wrexham with victory over Woking at Meadow Lane.

Sam Austin scored twice and Aaron Nemane was credited with the other goal as County bounced back from their Easter Monday defeat at Wrexham.

Woking had chances in the first half as Sam Slocombe tipped away Kyran Lofthouse's 20-yard shot and Kacper Lopata sent a free header wide.

But County dominated the second half and never looked back after Austin swept home Matty Palmer's 55th-minute cross from eight yards out.

Austin turned provided for Nemane to hook home the second after 72 minutes, the ball looking as if it had just crossed the line before Palmer made sure.

Cedwyn Scott set up Austin's sweet left-footed finish three minutes later.

Wrexham, who play their game in hand against Yeovil on Tuesday, need six points from their final three matches to win the title and consign County to the play-offs.
