Celtic have the opportunity to retain the Scottish title against Heart of Midlothian after being sent to Tynecastle Park for the first game after the Premiership split.

Ange Postecoglou's side lead by 13 points with five games remaining.

If Celtic fail to win on 7 May, Rangers can delay a potential title-clincher until their rivals visit Ibrox if they better that at home to Aberdeen.

Saturday, 13 May is the date set for the final Old Firm derby of the season.

The dates have been decided after the Scottish Professional Football League announced the final round of five fixtures following the split of the top flight into two.

The SPFL has to balance home and away games for each club as it decides the games after the Premiership divides into two sections - the top half aiming for European qualification and the bottom half battling to avoid relegation.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou would have liked to have had an earlier home game.

However, he told Celtic TV: "It's always a challenge, I guess, for those doing it. It means our supporters won't see us for three weeks, but we've just got to deal with it.

"Going to Hearts away, with a new manager in and they had a great result last week. It's always a challenge at Tynecastle anyway, so it will be a good place to go and win it, because we are going to have to earn it to do it."

The final Edinburgh derby of the season will be at Tynecastle on 27 May, the last weekend of the league season, when Hearts and Hibernian meet in a game that could still be vital for European qualification.

Meanwhile, the automatic relegation and play-off spot could be decided the following day, when Kilmarnock host Ross County, Dundee United visit Motherwell and St Johnstone entertain Livingston.

One of Celtic's pairings has been reversed in order to ensure every Premiership club has 19 home and away fixtures.

Celtic host Aberdeen for a third time, in the final game of the season, in one of five switched pairings.

Aberdeen entertain St Mirren for a third time, while Hibs welcome Rangers for a third Easter Road meeting.

In the bottom six, Dundee United make their third trip to Motherwell and Kilmarnock will play St Johnstone at Rugby Park for a third time.
