Wales internationals Kayleigh Green and Rhiannon Roberts are leaving their Women's Super League (WSL) clubs.

Roberts is being released by Liverpool after five years having helped the club to achieve promotion back to the WSL.

Forward Green has announced she is leaving Brighton having joined the club in 2018 when she turned professional.

"Saying goodbye is never easy, but my time has come to leave Brighton," Green wrote on social media. "I have had an incredible five years at the club."

Green, 35, signed with Brighton in 2018 and is one of five first-team players leaving the club this summer, having made 110 appearances, more than any player in Brighton's WSL history.

"I would like to say a big thank you to the fans for all the support and love you have showed me during my time at Brighton," said Green.

"Thank you for also sticking by us through the ups and downs, you have been incredible throughout and I have so much love for you all.

"Finally, a huge thank you to Brighton and Hove Albion for giving me the opportunity of signing my first professional contract. The club has a very bright future for both men and women's football."

Green, who previously played for Cardiff City and Yeovil, says she is "really excited to see what is next."

Brighton are 10th in the WSL ahead of their final game of the season at home to Leicester on Saturday.

Liverpool, who are seventh, end their campaign at home to title-chasing Manchester United.

Roberts, 32, joined the Reds in 2018 and will leave when her contract expires at the end of the season just short of a century of appearances.

"I know our fans will join me in wishing all the players moving on the very best of luck in the future," Liverpool manager Matt Beard said.

"It is a natural part of football for squads to evolve and change but we will be following their future progress with great interest."

Wales have a friendly against the United States in San Jose on Sunday, 9 July before beginning their Nations League campaign with fixtures against Iceland and Denmark in September.
