Carlisle United have signed Middlesbrough defender Jack Robinson and Leeds midfielder Alfie McCalmont on two year-deals.

The pair join the Cumbrians having spent time on loan there last season.

Robinson, 22, joins after his release by Boro while McCalmont, 23, moves to Brunton Park for an undisclosed fee.

During their time with Carlisle, the pair helped them win promotion to League One having beaten Stockport County in May's play-off final.

McCalmont started at Wembley and played 61 minutes in their victory, while Robinson was an unused substitute.

"Everyone wishes Jack the best of luck in his future career," Boro said.

Having joined Middlesbrough as a 13-year-old, Robinson went on to make two senior appearances for the club.

Prior to joining Carlisle last term, he spent the 2021-22 season on loan with Yeovil Town, making 18 appearances.
