Craig Wighton scored two close-range goals after coming off the bench

Substitute Craig Wighton scored twice as Dunfermline Athletic moved up to fourth in the Championship with victory over managerless Arbroath.

Josh Edwards finished from a tight angle after a shot from Owen Moffat had been well saved by Derek Gaston.

The visiting goalkeeper had a busy evening with a series of good saves but Wighton followed up to nudge in the second goal.

The striker's second goal was similar, arriving in the final minute.

Coach Stuart Malcolm was in charge of the visitors following Dick Campbell's resignation at the weekend.

But the change could not prevent Arbroath falling to a sixth straight loss in all competitions as they remain ninth in the table.
