Managerless Millwall came from behind to rescue a point against Preston North End, whose winless run in the Championship stretched to five games.
The hosts took only three minutes to take the lead as Mads Frokjaer slotted past Millwall goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.
Millwall fought back and levelled through Zian Flemming's cool curling finish from the edge of the box on the half-hour mark.
In a tepid second half, neither side could find a winner, with Flemming's last-minute free-kick bobbling well wide of the mark.
Gary Rowett left Millwall by mutual consent on Wednesday after four years in charge, with assistant manager Adam Barrett taking over on a temporary basis.
It was a nightmare start for Barrett though, as the Lilywhites raced out of the blocks and were rewarded for their attacking start when Jordan Storey laid the ball to Frokjaer to fire home.
Flemming scored his third goal of the campaign in style having received the ball outside the box before turning and firing a first-time shot past Preston goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
The hosts were boosted in the run-up to the Lions' visit with the news striker Ched Evans would be named in the matchday squad..
Evans has been out since April having suffered from a neck and spine injury that had threatened to bring an end to his career, but following surgery and a lengthy recovery he returned to action as a 73rd-minute substitute.
Preston chased what would have been a valuable win, having lost ground to leaders Leicester City and second-placed Ipswich Town after their initial impressive start to the season.
Chances for either side after the break were few and far between as the game fizzled to its conclusion, with a point apiece a fair result.
