Swansea City have named Aberdeen academy director Gavin Levey as their new academy manager.

The Championship club had been looking for a new youth supremo since Andy Goldie left for Southampton in June.

Aberdeen have had considerable success in producing homegrown players in recent years.

Levey, 43, had been the Dons' academy director since 2021 having joined the club in 2006 after spells working at Dundee United and Ross County.

"Gavin's appointment will undoubtedly strengthen us and I am looking forward to working with him," said Swansea chairman Andy Coleman.

Levey said: "It's a privilege to join Swansea City and lead an academy that already has a strong reputation for developing and promoting talented young footballers."

Confirming Levey's exit earlier this month, Aberdeen said on social media it was "impossible to thank him enough for his immeasurable contributions over the past 17 years".
