The EFL Trophy final has been played at Wembley since 1985, with the match moving to Cardiff during the seven-year renovations

Bristol Street Motors will sponsor the EFL Trophy with immediate effect after a three-year deal was agreed with the English Football League.

They replace pizza company Papa Johns who have been sponsors since 2021.

The competition is contested by League One and League Two clubs as well as selected Premier League and Championship under-21 sides.

The EFL says the prize fund, which stands at just under £3m, will be added to by the sponsorship deal.

This year's tournament is still in the group stage with most sides having played two of their three fixtures.

"We are delighted to welcome Bristol Street Motors as title sponsor of the EFL Trophy in a partnership that sees further investment into League One and Two clubs over the duration of the deal," EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said.

Bolton Wanderers won last year's final, beating then-League One rivals Plymouth Argyle at the national stadium in front of 79,389 fans at Wembley.
