Sheffield United have opened an investigation into an alleged racist incident during Saturday's Premier League home defeat by Bournemouth.
No details have been released but the club are working with South Yorkshire Police to identify the culprit.
The Blades said they took a "zero-tolerance approach" to racism.
"We will take the strongest possible action, which includes a club ban, against any so-called fan found responsible," a statement read.
Bournemouth won the game 3-1 to leave Paul Heckingbottom's Sheffield United side 18th in the table, four points adrift of safety.
