Arbroath 1-2 Greenock Morton: Dougie Imrie's side strike relegation battle blow

  • Published

Morton struck a significant blow in the Scottish Championship relegation battle after winning at nearest rivals Arbroath and spoiling Jim McIntyre's debut as manager.

Lewis McGrattan's first-half goal gave Dougie Imrie's side the lead before the break, but David Gold levelled just after the hour.

However, George Oakley scored in the closing stages to edge the bottom side to within a point of Arbroath and two of Queen's Park, having played a game fewer than the latter.
