Northampton Town have increased their goalkeeping options by signing Louie Moulden on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old has yet to play a first-team game for the Molineux club, but appeared in two EFL Trophy games for their Under-21s in 2020-21.

He spent the first half of this season with National League club Rochdale.

Northampton boss Jon Brady said: "He will support and challenge Lee Burge and we want to have that competition."

The signing of Moulden - who was on loan at Solihull Moors last season - comes a day after Norwich City forward Tony Springett arrived on loan at Sixfields.

"We have been watching his progress closely and we are delighted we have been able to bring him in," added Brady.

"He has a decent amount of experience under his belt and we feel he is ideal for us to bring into the squad at this time."

Ninth-placed Northampton are next in League One action away to Oxford United on Saturday.
