Three second-half goals saw Greenock Morton cruise to victory over 10-man Arbroath at Cappielow and climb to fourth in the Scottish Championship.

Keaghan Jacobs was sent off after 28 minutes for a second bookable offence, which left the visitors fighting an uphill battle.

Robbie Muirhead gave Morton the lead from the spot after Jack Baird was fouled in the box, before George Oakley doubled their advantage with a low shot beyond Arbroath goalkeeper Max Boruc.

Grant Gillespie then took over penalty-taking duties to wrap up the three points late on.

Morton are now a point ahead of fifth-placed Airdrieonians, who drew 1-1 with Partick Thistle, while Arbroath stay bottom of the table.
