Tottenham have progressed from the group stage for the third successive season, having been knocked out in the quarter-finals last year and the semi-finals in 2021-22

Tottenham reached the quarter-finals of the Women's League Cup by beating Championship side Southampton.

Ramona Petzelberger smashed home a mistimed Southampton clearance to provide the opener, her finish taking a deflection on the way in.

Australia defender Charlotte Grant doubled their lead in the second half, pouncing on a loose ball in the penalty area.

Grace Clinton then made it three with a well-executed strike from distance.

Tottenham finished second in Group D, but progress as the best-performing second-placed side.

Spurs managed 10 points from four group-stage games, one fewer than Arsenal, who won the group after thrashing Reading on Wednesday, but their 2.5 points per game is the best total of any runner-up.

Second-division Southampton, meanwhile, finished third in Group D with five points.
