Yann M'Vila: West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan confirms interest in free agent

West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan has confirmed his interest in former France midfielder Yann M'Vila.
Following the close of the transfer window, the Baggies can only sign free agents - and M'Vila, 33, is without a club after leaving Olympiakos, where he previously played for Corberan.
Any deal is still dependent on M'Vila gaining a work permit.
"He's a player the club is working on to see if we can add him," Corberan told BBC Radio WM.
"We want to keep improving to finish the season in the best possible position."
But Corberan already knows what sort of character he would be getting from his time at the helm in Greece, where he was fired after his first defeat in only his fifth league game in charge in September 2022.
"All clubs look for players," added Corberan. "But when you know someone, you have an advantage, as you know his character and personality.
"I got to know him at Olympiakos for a short period of time and he made a positive impression on me."
Albion made three signings in the window - strikers Callum Marshall from West Ham and on-loan Andi Weimann, who scored the only goal of the game on his home debut to beat Birmingham City last Saturday, plus Celtic winger Mikey Johnston.
But they also lost on-loan Brighton winger Jeremy Sarmiento, who is set to play against the Baggies for his new loan club Ipswich Town in the meeting of fourth and fifth at Portman Road on Saturday lunchtime.

Albion have adopted their usual 'no comment' policy over renewed media speculation that the up-for-sale club may be sold within a month.
Albion only officially confirmed for the first time, as recently as November, that chairman Guochuan Lai was seeking new majority shareholders.
US businessman Shilen Patel is still the likeliest contender to bring to an end to the Chinese owner's seven-and-half-year reign.
But it is now understood that an alternative proposal involving Cheshire-based lawyer Chris Farnell and local businessman Alex Hearn is not now, nor has it ever been, in the running to buy the club.
