Greenock Morton 0-1 Dunfermline Athletic: Deniz Mehmet's late penalty save lifts visitors above hosts
- Published
Deniz Mehmet's late penalty save secured Dunfermline Athletic a victory that lifts them above hosts Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship.
On-loan Livingston defender Miles Welch-Hayes headed Dunfermline Athletic ahead 10 minutes after the break from a Kane Ritchie-Hosler corner.
As Morton piled on the pressure after the break, Jai Quitongo drew a foul from Ewan Otoo with six minutes left.
However, Mehmet pushed away Robbie Muirhead's spot kick.
A second successive win at Cappielow Park lifts Dunfermline to within a point of Airdrieonians, although the fourth-placed side have two games in hand, and leaves Morton without a win in six outings and having lost five in a row.
