Bristol Rovers 0-0 Shrewsbury Town

Bristol Rovers drew 0-0 with Shrewsbury Town at the Memorial Stadium in a League One contest in which both teams struck the woodwork.

Aiden O'Brien volleyed against the crossbar from just outside the area three minutes after half-time for Shrewsbury.

Jevani Brown then hit the post in the 86th minute with a left-foot shot just inside the area from Antony Evans' pass as the home side went close to finding a late winner.

Chris Martin could have broken the deadlock in the 12th minute after Brandon Aguilera won the ball high up the pitch and fed the striker but Martin's clipped finish just missed the goal.

Tom Bayliss wasted Shrewsbury's best first-half opportunity when he blazed over the bar in stoppage time.

Sam Finley's 33rd-minute volley was straight at visiting keeper Marko Marosi, who saved again two minutes later when Luca Hoole released Martin.

Rovers substitute Grant Ward spurned a great 70th-minute chance when he miskicked Luke Thomas' cutback, but a game marked by several tetchy off-the-ball confrontations between players finished goalless.
