Northampton Town have signed Burnley striker Dara Costelloe and Nottingham Forest midfielder Ben Perry on loan for the rest of the season.

Perry, 20, has come through Forest's youth ranks and featured for their under-21 side in the EFL Trophy, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the East Midlands side.

For 22-year-old Costelloe, it is his second loan of the campaign, and he steps up a level after scoring five goals in 17 League Two appearances for Accrington Stanley.

Republic of Ireland-born Costelloe - whose latest move comes on the day that he has signed a new Clarets deal - joined Burnley from Galway United in 2021 and has had previous loan spells at Bradford City, St Johnstone and Dundee.

"We think Dara can come in and offer something a little different," said Cobblers manager Kevin Nolan.

"He can be a spark, he can create things and he is very much an attacking threat.

"He is another player who we have brought here despite strong interest from other clubs as his performances this season have attracted attention.

"He has done really well at Accrington this season, we hope he will come and continue that here."

The deadline day additions of Costelloe and Perry come after Liam Shaw and Terry Taylor joined the Cobblers earlier in the transfer window.

Northampton are 20th in League One, five points above the relegation places, and will be away to Mansfield Town on Friday evening.

Costelloe's new deal keeps him with Championship high-fliers Burnley until June 2026.

"The club [Burnley] have continued to support my development as a footballer and I'm now looking forward to the next step with a loan spell at Northampton," he said.
