Cardiff City did not bring in too many new faces during the summer as the club came to terms with relegation from the Championship.

In fact, the number of recruits from the last transfer window - three - is the same as the number of managers the Bluebirds have had in 2025, with Brian Barry-Murphy succeeding caretaker Aaron Ramsey and predecessor Omer Riza.

While Cardiff City fans have raved about some of the performances from the young and homegrown players in their League One campaign so far, new arrival Nathan Trott in particular - with Gabriel Osho and Omari Kellyman the other recruits - has earned praise.

The statistics back up how effective Trott, on loan from FC Copenhagen, has been between the sticks for Cardiff.

The 26-year-old Bermudian goalkeeper has made 12 appearances across all competitions, and he is topping the charts in the Championship according to stats provided by Opta.

Trott has a save rate of 77.8%, the joint most - alongside Huddersfield Town's Owen Goodman - of any goalkeeper in League One.

The Bluebirds stopper has prevented an average of 0.4 goals per 90 minutes, better than any other goalkeeper in League One this season.

Trott has also kept six clean sheets in the league this season, more than any other goalkeeper in League One.

Defender Osho has only made four appearances across all competitions, but according to WhoScored.com the Nigeria international's stats in his three League One appearances make for encouraging reading.

The 27-year-old former Auxerre centre-back averages seven clearances and 1.3 blocks per game - both metrics that place him above any other Cardiff player.

Osho also averages 1.3 tackles per game, with only Joel Bagan, Ronan Kpakio and Rubin Colwill managing more.

As for Kellyman, his six appearances across all competitions have rarely been full games as Barry-Murphy uses the Chelsea Under-21 player sparingly, mindful that he suffered two hamstring injuries last season.

No doubt Kellyman's time will come - and the stats will follow.
