Arsenal have reached an agreement with teenager Max Dowman to sign scholarship terms.
By moving from schoolboy forms to a scholarship terms - which will begin next season - it means 15-year-old Dowman could pre-agree a professional contract when he turns 17.
The talented young winger has already made his senior debut for the Gunners, coming on and providing an assist in Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds earlier this season.
At 15 years and 234 days, he became the second-youngest player to represent the club and the second-youngest to play in the Premier League - with team-mate Ethan Nwaneri holding both records.
Dowman has made three first-team appearances in total and is regularly featuring in the north London club's academy teams, most recently scoring twice in Arsenal's Uefa Youth League defeat by Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
