Truro City's "special spirit" helped them earn their third league win of the season, according to assistant manager Stewart Yetton.
Luke Jephcott's winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time saw the Tinners beat Halifax Town 2-1.
The victory - coming a few days after an FA Cup loss on penalties to AFC Totton - moved the Cornish side up to third-from-bottom of the National League.
"We never give up. That's something Truro never does," Yetton told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"We've got a special spirit down here, we've had it for years and that continues and late goals seem to follow us around."
Yetton felt the victory was even more impressive considering many of his side had played more than 120 minutes of football on Tuesday night as they were beaten in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.
The defeat at home to their National League South opponents meant the Tinners missed the chance to make the first round of the FA Cup for just the second time in their history.
"That's a testament to the fitness and how they've recovered this week," he added.
"You've got to factor that into it as well, our lads have played an extra game and a long game at that.
"So I think fair play to them and all credit to them, because a few of our boys were getting tired at the end you could see, but that's the spirit you've got.
"When you play for this football club, you've got to be a special character anyway to want to come down here and play, especially at this level and I think we've proved yet again, what makes Truro City what we are."
