Bristol Rovers bring in West Ham's Forbes on loan

Michael Forbes has been given the chance to play first-team football this season

Bristol Rovers have signed centre-back Michael Forbes on a season-long loan from Premier League side West Ham.

The Northern Ireland international, 20, is League One club Rovers' eighth summer signing, following the arrivals of Isaac Hutchinson, Clinton Mola, Ruel Sotiriou, Bryant Bilongo, Joel Senior, Taylor Moore and Dan Ellison.

"This is my first loan move and Rovers is a great club to come and learn at," Forbes told the club website.

"My hope is that my time with Rovers can help me reach the next level of my game."

Forbes made his Northern Ireland debut in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Finland in November.

He has been a regular for West Ham's under-21 side but is yet to make a senior appearance for the east London club.
