Millwall have signed Cardiff midfielder Ryan Wintle and Liverpool left-back Calum Scanlon, both on season-long loans.

Wintle, 27, has made 117 appearances for the Bluebirds, scoring five goals.

Scanlon, 19, takes their number of summer signings to nine.

Meanwhile, winger Romain Esse, 19, has signed a "long-term" contract extension at The Den.

Wintle began his career at Crewe, scoring 11 goals in 186 games before moving to Cardiff in 2021.

He spent his first six months at the Welsh club on loan at Blackpool, playing 18 times in the Championship.

Scanlon joined Liverpool from Birmingham City in 2021 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds.

Esse has made 45 appearances for The Lions' first team since his debut in 2022 and has already scored twice this campaign.

Millwall, who are without a win in the league, face Sheffield Wednesday at The Den on Saturday.
