Leeds midfielder Gruev sidelined with knee injury

Ilia Gruev has featured in all nine of Leeds' fixtures so far this season

Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev has suffered a "significant injury to his meniscus" in his right knee.

The Bulgaria international had to go off in the 20th minute of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Norwich City.

The club said he will undergo surgery in the coming days and it is understood he is likely to be out for months.

Gruev is the second Leeds midfielder to be ruled out with a knee injury this week after captain Ethan Ampadu was sidelined for 10 weeks with a ligament injury.
