Crewe Alexandra have signed winger Dion Rankine on a two-year deal from Wigan Athletic and right-back Jay Mingi on a season-long loan from Stockport County.
Rankine - who came through Chelsea's academy - was released by Wigan at the end of last season after making 26 appearances in all competitions.
Prior to that, the 22-year-old played in the EFL Trophy for Chelsea's under-21 team and also featured 33 times in League One during a loan spell at Exeter City in the 2023-24 season.
His agreement at the League Two club includes an option for a further 12 months.
Mingi, 24, has struggled for game time at Edgeley Park, playing just 11 league games last season and only featuring in one EFL Cup game in the current campaign.
He came through the youth system at West Ham United and then Charlton Athletic, and he made his senior debut for the Addicks in the EFL Trophy in 2020.
Mingi left The Valley without playing a league game and joined Stockport last summer after two seasons at Portsmouth and one at Colchester United.
