Preston legend Browne leaves club

Alan Browne scored 46 goals in 412 appearances for Preston

Preston captain Alan Browne has left the club after turning down a new three-year deal.

The 29-year-old Irishman played 414 games in all competitions for the Championship side, putting him 11th on the club's list of all-time appearance makers.

"It's been a decade of highs and lows, and Alan has been there for all of them, and he now leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Preston North End," the club said in a statement.

"He will forever remain welcome back at Deepdale."
