Blackpool sign Ipswich defender Baggott on loan

Elkan Baggott has made a total of seven first-team appearances for Ipswich Town

Blackpool have signed defender Elkan Baggott on a season-long loan from Premier League side Ipswich Town.

The 21-year-old spent the latter half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan in League One with Bristol Rovers.

An Indonesia international, Baggott has won 24 caps and also previously played on loan for King's Lynn, Gillingham and Cheltenham Town.

"It's a great feeling to finally be here and I'm excited to play my part in what will hopefully be a successful season for the club," he told Blackpool's website.

"The way the team plays, the group that is already here – it's all extremely positive. I know a number of other players who are here too and they've all had good things to say."

Blackpool get their 2024-25 League One campaign under way with a trip to newly-promoted Crawley Town on Saturday.
