Moncur works on fitness to improve 'end product'

Midfielder George Moncur has no regrets about dropping out of the English Football League but admits he still needs to improve his fitness after joining Southend United on a season-long loan.
The 31-year-old agreed a move from Leyton Orient, whom he helped win promotion to League One in 2022-23, during the summer transfer window.
And he made his second start for the Shrimpers in their 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic in National League on Saturday - providing the assist with a free-kick which was converted by Gus Scott-Morriss.
"I run with the ball a lot and sometimes when I get near the edge of the box, I can't feel my legs to shoot," he told BBC Essex Sport.
"That's one thing I need to improve on because there's no point doing that work and nothing comes of it."
Moncur made 41 appearances for Orient last season, but said the move to Roots Hall was all about enjoying football again.
He continued: "When I've got the love back for the game, I'm a good player, so I've just got to believe in myself.
"In pre-season, I only played two 45 minutes and that was six or seven weeks ago, and it takes a while for your fitness to build up."
Moncur began his career at West Ham and has also had spells at Colchester, Luton Town, Barnsley and Hull City as well as three previous loans.
It is a new era at Southend following the takeover by a consortium headed by Australian businessman Justin Rees in July.
They are 16th in the table, having drawn four of their first six matches, ahead of a home game against Eastleigh on Tuesday, and have completed the signing of experienced striker Macaulay Bonne, who will be their new number nine.
"I think we deserve a bit more but I believe that will come. I wouldn't be surprised if we start doing teams three or four," added Moncur, who is undaunted by the prospect of two games in four days.
"I might have to get them (legs) in the fridge for a hit, but I'm looking forward to the game on Tuesday."
