Rangers maintained their winning start to the Scottish Women's Premier League season with a 2-0 victory at Hearts.

Glasgow City moved above Celtic - who were in Champions League qualifying action - into second after seeing off Hibernian 3-0.

Having played a game more, City are level on points with leaders Rangers.

Motherwell halted their five-game losing run in style by thumping Queen's Park 6-0, while bottom club Dundee United's woes continued with a 4-0 loss to Partick Thistle.

Spartans made it two wins in three games thanks to a 3-1 victory over struggling Aberdeen.

At Oriam, Rangers made the breakthrough five minutes before half-time through Brogan Hay.

Rio Hardy netted the second after 56 minutes and despite a late chance for Kerry Beattie, fourth-place Hearts struggled to threaten the Rangers goal.

Jo Potter's side have now won seven out of seven, with 51 goals scored and just once conceded.

Glasgow City made a flying start at Petershill Park, with Emily Whelan capitalising on a mistake from the Hibs defence to score after just one minute.

Sofia Maatta made it seven goals in eight games when she grabbed City's second and Rammie Noel netted her first of the season to complete the scoring.

Spartans moved up to eighth after overcoming second-bottom Aberdeen. Hearts loanee Olivia Chumczuk got the hosts off the mark and further goals from Erin Rennie and Kate Fraser had them cruising before Hannah Stewart scored a late consolation penalty.

Laura Berry was the star of Motherwell's thrashing of Queen's Park, with the Rangers loanee scoring four, while Bailley Collins grabbed a three-minute double.

Partick Thistle remain sixth, a point clear of Motherwell, after goals from Cara Henderson, Rosie Slater, Lucy Sinclair and Tiree Burchill sank hosts United.
