  3. What's happened at Wimbledon today?published at 20:21 British Summer Time 5 July

    • World number one Jannik Sinner and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic produced dominant performances to make it through to the last 16 of the men's singles.
    • Sinner is joined in the fourth round by two other Italians, Lorenzo Sonego and Flavio Cobolli - it is the first time ever that three Italian players have reached this stage of the men's draw at Wimbledon.
    • Marin Cilic, who knocked out British number one Jack Draper earlier this week, continued his winning run with a four-set victory over Jaume Munar.
    • There were a couple of big exits from the women's draw, as defending champion Barbora Krejcikova and former winner Elena Rybakina both went out in the third round. Krejcikova was visibly emotional during a defeat in which she had physical struggles and at one point had her blood pressure taken.
    • Iga Swiatek and teenager Mirra Andreeva are safely through, however.

  4. 'It is a statement to the rest of the draw'published at 20:16 British Summer Time 5 July

It was all aspects of his game.

He was hitting his spots, dictating from the back of the court and he was able to hit so aggressively without making unforced errors.

He had one slight wobble at the end, serving for the match at 5-2 and lost it, but he still finished it off in three straight sets and I think he will be delighted with his progress to the fourth round.

Djokovic’s level was just absolutely phenomenal and that is when you realise that on grass he is one of the favourites. At the age of 38, on the hard courts and clay courts it is getting harder and harder between Sinner, Alcaraz and the rest.

But the seven-time champion, when he puts in performances like today, then I think it is a statement to the rest of the draw.

I think the distraction for Novak Djokovic was just him looking into the dressing room, looking at the draw and looking at what is to come.

He will have been thinking that if he can keep playing at this level, there is big potential for him here. I think that's what distracted him in those last moments, more so than the crowd or anything else.

When you walk on the court against Djokovic, you know he is ready and he is going to come at you.

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic speaking after his victory on Centre Court: "I have enjoyed myself very much apart from the last couple of games. It was good to close it out in the end. There was some tension and things got a bit complicated. It is never easy playing a friend and fellow patriot. We are really friends and team-mates and I wish him [Kecmanovic] the best."

On his 100th Wimbledon win: "That sounds very nice. I am very grateful and privileged to be in this position. Tennis made me who I am and has given me incredible things in life. I never take anything for granted, especially at this age. I am still pushing myself to the limits and getting some splits and slides on the court. Wimbledon is a dream tournament of so many of us players. Any history here is a blessing."

On his celebration: "It is a dance called 'Pump it up' in England. It is something my daughter and I do together, she is the master. It is a little tradition and hopefully I can do it again."

It took over five hours, but Lorenzo Sonego gets there in the end.

The Italian lost the first set against 29th seed Brandon Nakashima on a tie-break, before taking the next two - also on tie-breaks.

The American came back to win the fourth set, but it seemed only fitting that the match should be decided on a tie-break.

It was pretty routine in the end for Sonego who sealed it at 10-3 with an ace.

He will want to get some serious rest now before his fourth round match on Monday against another American in Ben Shelton

    Ben Shelton's done it!

The American must have been nervous after sloppily giving away that last service game but he regains his composure to secure the match.

The 22-year-old progresses to the fourth round for the second time in his career.

He's now won all nine sets he's played in SW19 this year.

Novak Djokovic is hitting the ball as well as I have ever seen him hit the ball.

A little blip of concentration at the end there but Novak was just in amazing form. He has had a purple patch on his serve.

It's important for him to win some free points, certainly at this age, to get through service games and we saw it at the end there, two great serves when it really mattered to finish off the match.

    Lorenzo Sonego celebrates

After more than five hours of slogging it out on court 14, Lorenzo Sonego finds an extra gear to defeat Brandon Nakashima 10-3 in the match tie-break and reach the fourth round.

The Italian fans erupt into celebration, beginning their chants again.

That’s history for Italy, with three men through to the last 16 at Wimbledon for the very first time!

It’s looking like it will be American 10th seed Ben Shelton that he meets next.

    Hold your horses.

Remember that stuff I said about Marton Fucsovics' body language and how he just wanted this match to finish?

    Yeah, he's just broken back.

That's just the second time Ben Shelton's lost his serve in these Championships - and what a time to do it.

The crowd were just getting under Djokovic's skin here as he struggled to see off this match.

He shakes his head as a few fans are told off for shouting out while he waits to serve.

But no sooner have they given him a bit of gentle ribbing, they're cheering him on again to take victory.

A minor blip at the end, but that's a statement win from the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

You won't see many better performances than that from Novak Djokovic.

Good luck, Alex de Minaur - you've got the task of trying to stop him in round four.

Kecmanovic hasn't played badly at all. He has been a little bit short on some of the shots and Novak has always seemed to have the answers.

Kecmanovic has hit some great depth in the last few games and fought his way through. His team are telling him to fight to the end.

  20. 'Djokovic going for more and hitting the ball harder'published at 19:49 British Summer Time 5 July

    Kecmanovic 3-6 0-6 4-5 Djokovic*

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 3 and BBC Sounds

It's interesting for me to see the different approach Novak Djokovic is taking to Wimbledon compared to the beginning of Roland Garros.

I think he has realised that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have the capability to sometimes take the racquet out of his hands because of their power. Therefore if he wants to beat those guys on the grass, he has to elevate his game.

In this first week, we are seeing him play shots that we don't usually see him playing in the first week of a Slam. He is going for more, hitting the ball harder and being more precise with his returns.

    Everything has improved to me.
