Striker Jamie Cureton is aiming to make a goalscoring debut as a 50-year-old when he plays his first game for Kings Park Rangers.
The former Norwich City, Bristol Rovers, Reading and Exeter City forward joined the Suffolk-based club earlier this week.
They play in Eastern Counties League Division One North, the sixth tier of English non-league football, and will be at home to Diss Town on Saturday.
Cureton was previously manager at Cambridge City, but was sacked last month following a poor start to the season.
He played for Norwich against Everton in the Premier League in 1994 and will be starting his 32nd season as a player when he pulls on a Kings Park shirt.
The club, which plays at Great Cornard, was formed in 2023 and they are second in the table, having already won two promotions.
Cureton cannot remember how many matches he has played during his career, telling BBC Sport in July: "I lost count when I reached 1,000."
He believes he has scored just a few short of 400 goals and added: "I'd like to finish on 400 or above."
