Exeter City defender Johnly Yfeko could be out for 10 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old is on loan at the League One side from Rangers with the option of a permanent move at the end of the season.

He has started 11 games this season and been a key part of an Exeter defence that has kept seven clean sheets, including five in succession, in League One.

"It's not as bad as it could have been, but it's still going to be 8-10 weeks, which is a bit of a blow," Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon.

"He's a young player who works extremely hard and who will be back on the quicker side of that."

It is the former Leicester City academy player's first extended taste of senior men's football - he played once for Rangers in the Scottish league Cup last season as well as three times for the Glasgow club's 'B' team in the Scottish League Challenge Cup.

"It's a big blow, he's been amazing," added Caldwell.

"He probably needed a little break physically anyway, he's played a lot of football for a young player who has never played at this level before.

"So I always think these things happen for a reason, but he'll work hard, he'll come back and he'll be better for his experience he's had so far in League One."
