    London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses manager Jocelyn Precheur speaking to Sky Sports: "I am disappointed about the result, not about the performance.

"We still have some issues we need to improve. We created many chances. We fought until the end. I am pretty satisfied with the mentality and performance today.

"I regret a little the lack of efficiency with our chances. We had five, six, seven real chances. This is where I noticed a lack of efficiency."

  5. 'It was a team performance'published at 14:16 GMT

FT: Chelsea 2-0 London City Lionesses

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm really pleased with the result and the performance. It's never easy to win a game after the international break. You don't have time to prepare the way you want. We didn't have the energy we wanted to have in the first half. It was a team performance and a good result.

"As a whole, we had a really good game defensively. We didn't concede a lot, we kept a clean sheet. It's a good result."

On Ellie Carpenter and Lucy Bronze: "I'm pleased with both of them. They're great and important players for us. They can play together in the right corridor. They are experienced and their quality is good for us."

On the goal-scorers: "I'm really proud of all of my players. I'm proud of Sam and Ellie - the Aussies scored. I think today more than the individuals, it's a team performance. Everyone contributed to the performance and the result."

On Sandy Baltimore's half-time substitution: "She's fine. I felt we needed more energy and fresh legs coming into the game. Sandy played a lot for the national team, Niamh [Charles] had not played a lot of minutes. She did well."

On Hannah Hampton and the clean sheet: "Hannah is a great professional. It's great for me to have her in my team. I think she's the best goalkeeper in the world, so it's best to have her in my team.

"Everyone works hard in this team, starting from the forwards. Everyone is helping each other not to concede a lot of goals. This mentality is a great one to have when you want to perform at the highest level."

The subs that come on for Chelsea, the form doesn't dip and it only takes it to another level. In possession they were fantastic managing the game and then killing the game off at the end.

FT: Man City 1-0 West Ham

Man City have now won their past six WSL matches since losing to Chelsea in their season opener.

Aoba Fujino scored the only goal at the Joie Stadium, coolly slotting home in the 26th minute after Viviane Miedema capitalised on a defensive error from Shelina Zadorsky.

West Ham's Viviane Asseyi hit the bar in the first half while Man City's Gracie Prior hit the woodwork in the second.

I thought Chelsea in the second half were fantastic keeping the ball and keeping possession.

They then got their reward right at the end. London City can hold their heads up high - it is always tough for any team coming here against Chelsea.

They held their own in parts, but Chelsea were too good for them.

FT: Chelsea 2-0 London City Lionesses

A goal in each half is enough for Chelsea to beat promoted side London City Lionesses.

Ellie Carpenter slotted home at the back post inside 10 minutes before Sam Kerr guaranteed the three points in injury time.

Sonia Bompastor's side march on but they lacked a clinical touch in front of goal and didn't have it all their own way, with London City Lionesses enjoying 43% and having three shots on target in the second half.

As for the Lionesses, it's a fourth defeat of the season but an improvement on their heavy losses to Arsenal, Man City and Man United.

And it's all over at the Joie Stadium.

Man City take the three points, with Aoba Fujino's 26th minute strike the difference between the two sides.

City keep pace with Chelsea - they remain one point behind the defending champions. West Ham's losing streak extends to nine matches.

    Man City 1-0 West Ham

Having seen a couple of West Ham's matches this season, I'd say this performance has been an improvement. But they are lacking confidence in front of goal and are too error-prone in defence.

A huge two matches against Leicester and Everton coming up for the Hammers.

Yes, City are a very good side, but West Ham are way off it. Rehanne Skinner has shown at both Spurs and here that she can't deliver. Overdue time for a change ! I'm a very unhappy Hammer.

Sam Kerr was never going to miss that.

Elene Lete initially did well to clear, but then the goal was wide open. Kerr makes no mistake. That has got to secure the win for Chelsea.

    Sam Kerr (90+4 mins)

    Sam Kerr!

An up and over pass from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd releases Sam Kerr on the right. London City keeper Elene Lete rushes out of her area to head clear but a defensive error sees the ball fall back at Kerr's feet and her first-time strike loops into a vacant goal.

    Inevitable.

It's still end to end at Stamford Bridge.

Hannah Hampton plays a long ball to unleash Johanna Rytting Kaneryd but the Chelsea' substitute's audacious effort goes wide.

London City Lionesses are immediately up the other end but Hampton comfortably gathers the cross from the left wing.
