Solihull Moors have named former Halifax Town boss Chris Millington as their new manager.

The 50-year-old replaces Matt Taylor, who was sacked four weeks ago after a winless start to the National League season.

Solihull have since won three of their six league games under caretaker boss James Quinn, who will stay on as part of Millington's coaching team, which includes his former Halifax assistant Andy Cooper.

"Both Andy and I are looking forward to working with Quinny," Millington told the club website., external

"I have always admired the way the club is run and the way it has competed in recent years. We are fully committed to driving the team forward."

It was at the end of last season, after Halifax's play-off exit, that Millington stepped down as boss of the Shaymen.

That was the second time since taking the job in 2022 he had led the club to a top-seven finish.

He also guided Halifax to FA Trophy glory in 2023.

"They [Millington and Cooper] did an outstanding job at Halifax and both have a wealth of experience at this level and across the game more generally," said Moors chairman Darryl Eales.

"From our first meeting, I was impressed with Chris's vision and ambition and his excellent fit with Moors as a club and our culture."
