Carlisle have signed former Brighton and Crawley defender Archie Davies for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal from League of Ireland side Dundalk.
Davies, who was in his second season at Dundalk, becomes the Cumbrians’ seventh new arrival of the summer.
The 25-year-old was on Crystal Palace’s books as a youngster, but made his senior debut for Brighton in the EFL Cup in 2019.
He spent two years with Crawley and also featured for National League side Aldershot Town prior to moving across the Irish Sea.
"He’s a player who is highly sought after. There were a lot of clubs after him so I’m delighted he’s chosen to come to us,” Carlisle boss Paul Simpson told the club website., external
"The challenge now is to transfer what he’s done over in Ireland back into the EFL. We think it’s a step up, but from what we’ve seen, we think he's more than capable of holding his own."
