Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers have been fined for failing to control their players in a stoppage-time confrontation during their fixture on 26 April.
Tempers flared in the dying minutes of a fiery encounter at Prenton Park with both sides having players sent off.
Crewe, who had already seen Tom Lowery dismissed in the 69th minute, went down to nine men when Zak Williams was given his marching orders in the 94th minute.
Tranmere's Regan Hendry also saw red as the match finished with 19 players on the pitch.
An FA statement said both clubs "failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 94th minute".
Crewe, who lost the encounter 2-0, have been fined £1,500 while Tranmere were hit with a £1,000 penalty.
