Dundee derby on cards after SPFL Trust trophy opening rounds draw
- Published
Lowland League champions East Kilbride will face Celtic B in the opening round of the revamped SPFL Trust trophy.
Highland League counterparts Buckie Thistle will face Dundee United's B team, while Aberdeen B face the short trip across the city to take on Banks O'Dee.
The winner of Buckie Thistle's tie will face either Dundee's B side or Formartine United, opening up the prospect of a Dundee derby in the second round.
SPFL survivors Stranraer, who escaped relegation in the play-off last season, will enter at the second round where they will face Bonnyrigg Rose.
The tournament structure has been changed this season. Five Highland and six Lowland league sides join the competition alongside 11 B teams from the Scottish Premiership - but sides from Wales, Northern Ireland and England are no longer being invited to participate.
