Tranmere Rovers have signed Blackburn Rovers midfielder Jake Garrett on loan for the rest of the season.

Liverpool-born Garrett drops down a division after spending the first half of the campaign on loan in League One at Bristol Rovers, where he made 11 appearances.

The 21-year-old has played 29 games in the Championship for Blackburn, with his only league goal coming in a 4-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion 12 months ago.

"I know it's a good club, good fanbase, I'm a local lad and I've got a point to prove, so every time I do play, I'm going to be giving 100% and working my hardest for the team," he told the Tranmere website.

Nigel Adkins' side are 22nd in League Two, five points clear of the relegation places, ahead of Saturday's home game against Colchester United.
