Carlisle United have re-signed striker Cedwyn Scott on a one-and-a-half-year deal from fellow League Two side Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old began his career with Huddersfield Town's youth setup and later had spells with Berwick Rangers and Forfar Athletic.

He had a short-term spell with Carlisle in 2021 and made seven appearances before moving to Gateshead and later Notts County, where he made 61 appearances and scored 17 goals.

"Cedwyn is a player I've worked with before so we know the quality he possesses," boss Mike Williamson said.

"He's at a stage in his career where he's hungry to progress and kick on which is the profile of player we're looking for."

Scott scored 24 goals in 45 appearances for Gateshead in National League North before moving to Notts County in 2022.

Whilst with the Magpies, he helped them win promotion back to the English Football League and scored the winning penalty against Chesterfield in the 2023 National League promotion final at Wembley.
