Craig Bellamy was already a Welsh football icon before he delivered the most succesful start ever enjoyed by a Wales coach.

He was a captain and scored historic goals for his country during a playing career which also included spells with Blackburn Rovers, Celtic, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United.

On Saturday he will begin Wales' bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup with a home game against Kazakhstan.
