Welsh champions The New Saints are aware of interest in their leading scorer Brad Young.

Former Aston Villa striker Young, 21, was the Cymru Premier’s top scorer last season with 22 goals and won the league’s player of the season accolade.

Earlier this month he scored twice on his European debut as TNS beat Montenegro side FK Decic 4-1 on aggregate to book a place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

Bristol City are reportedly among those monitoring the Solihull-born player, who signed for TNS in September 2023.

TNS chairman Mike Harris is aware of interest in the player, but said: “I have had nothing on my desk from a club to say we want to buy Bradley Young.”

Fellow striker Declan McManus is also thought to be among those TNS players who are being watched.

But Harris made it clear no player would be leaving the Oswestry based club on the cheap.

"We are not a club that needs to sell, we are keen on success ourselves," added Harris.

“Whoever comes up with an interest will need to back it up with a cheque book.”

TNS are preparing for their Champions League second qualifying round ties against Hungarian giants Ferencvaros.

The Cymru Premier champions are away in Budapest on Tuesday, 23 July before returning to Park Hall for the home leg seven days later.
