Tranmere Rovers have extended the contracts of forwards Connor Jennings and Omari Patrick for another season.

But club captain Tom Davies heads a list of seven players who will leave Prenton Park this summer.

Patrick, 28, finished as top scorer with 13 goals as Tranmere avoided relegation, while 32-year-old Jennings managed five this season.

The club has also taken up the option of an extra year for Jersey-born forward Sol Solomon, 24.

Defender Davies, 33, has played almost 150 games in the four seasons since he joined Tranmere.

He will leave when his contract expires, along with Kieron Morris, Chris Merrie, Luke Norris, Connor Wood, Declan Drysdale and Reuben Egan.

Long-serving midfielder Morris, 30, made 257 appearances for Rovers and scored 33 goals after arriving in January 2019 from Walsall, initially on loan. He played in at Wembley that year as Tranmere won promotion to League One in the play-off final.

While midfield-man Merrie, 26, was another to play more than a century of games for the club after he had moved from Wigan Athletic.

A further eight players are still in discussions with the club over new deals in Luke McGee, Regan Hendry, Lee O'Connor, Jordan Turnbull, Kristian Dennis, Josh Hawkes, Joe Murphy and Brad Walker.

"These are never easy decisions to make, particularly when some of the players have been here for a number of years and have made a big impact at the club, particularly Kieron Morris, Tom Davies and Chris Merrie," interim manager Andy Crosby told the club's website, external.
