Ten Hag in or out? Man Utd fans have their say
- Published
Manchester United's 1-1 draw at home to Twente on Wednesday night drew boos from some supporters at Old Trafford.
The result means United have won just one of their last nine fixtures in European competition and has increased the pressure on Erik ten Hag after a mixed start to his third campaign at the club.
The Dutchman signed a one-year contract extension last summer following a post-season review led by minority owners INEOS.
But, before crucial fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, Porto and Aston Villa, United fans are divided over whether to stick or twist with Ten Hag.
BBC Sport asked supporters for their views on Ten Hag's future, as well as the club's ownership and United's style of play.
'Ask me again at Christmas'

It's Erik ten Hag's third season at Manchester United and social media remains littered with cries of #TenHagOut.
One win in nine European games is a calamity. Just three victories this season - against Fulham, Southampton and Barnsley - isn't much better.
So, it's understandable that discontent is growing among the fanbase.
United's new ownership have offered reasons to be optimistic about the club's future - regardless of the manager.
I was all for INEOS opting to retain and back Ten Hag in the summer. Two trophies in as many years - following six years of no silverware - can't be sniffed at.
For the most part, the Dutchman is a likeable character with a blatant passion for football. He possesses traits of a successful United manager, and I still have faith his vision will be realised.
Ten Hag's desired style of play - a possession-based game with full-backs heavily involved in the build-up - has come through this season.
His demands of control are finally being answered. United have looked improved on the ball and off it - although the bar wasn't high - and plenty of chances have been created.
But no team has missed more big chances than his side's 17 in the opening five Premier League games. And performances won't matter if fortunes in front of goal and results don't change for the better.
Wednesday's draw at home to FC Twente was the latest reminder that United are still way off. Ten Hag insists it's a process - but patience is wearing thin. I'm holding out hope, for now. But ask me again at Christmas…
'It's not good enough... Van Nistelrooy would be popular'
Dale O'Donnell - Stretty News
The biggest problem with Erik ten Hag's style of play since becoming Manchester United manager is that it leads to more questions than answers. Fans can appreciate elements of the manager's philosophy, but it has not come together as it should, with the team continuing to struggle.
This season's results need to improve, although the performances aren't a million miles away. United are creating more chances and keeping clean sheets yet remain mediocre at best as a unit.
If results don't pick up in the coming weeks – against Tottenham, FC Porto and Aston Villa – Ten Hag could start losing some of his biggest supporters whose patience is wearing thin.
United have six wins in their last 19 Premier League matches. Just one win in their last nine European games. It's not good enough.
INEOS looked at replacements in the summer before deciding to stick with Ten Hag, after United’s FA Cup triumph over Manchester City at Wembley. They may need to rethink that if things don't pick up soon.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's focus will be on stadium development, while Dan Ashworth and his football department at United need to ensure the club can at least offer entertainment on the pitch.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was a shrewd addition to the coaching staff over the summer, presumably coming in with the idea of one day taking the job for his own. It would be a more popular decision with fans than handing the job to Gareth Southgate, a manager with no real pedigree at club level, who would take United backwards.
The trajectory United are on will not keep Ten Hag in a job.

How many more chances do we keep giving Ten Hag? His tactical prowess is rubbish and he doesn't seem to be able to motivate the team on big occasions. We need an out-and-out striker and a centre back who can break down attacks. Someone needs to be ruthless and kick some lazy players. - Martin Godhard
Very poor again. I do not believe Erik ten Hag is the right person to manage Manchester United. He should have been sacked at the end of last season. During his tenure we have broken several negative records. - Muhammed
Ten Hag needs time and money. - Henry
More money spent, more time to develop "routines", more disjointed performances. Ten Hag has to go - maybe he can take an assistant coaching job at his beloved Twente as Van Nistelrooy has at United. - Bryan W

ETH is simply not good enough for Manchester United. The earlier this reality is accepted, the better for everyone. This is his third season and yet no definitive style of play, the players look bereft of ideas, no link up or connection between them. Every game they look like 11 individuals brought together to play a match. I wonder what they do in training - Essien
It took Ferguson 25 years to mould a team. Ten Hag should be cut some slack as well. He is not a magician. - Careca
In patches they looked better but overall lacking ideas and again finishing power. I think the creative play is missing and unfortunately this is where the manager must take responsibility. I'm not convinced that he's got what we need. I'd give him up until the end of this year to get some positive results. After all, he's had the money. - Peter G
The players seem to lack any sort of confidence, which is a reflection of the manager and his methods - or is it lack of methods? Bringing substitutes on in the 80th minute and expecting them to change the game just isn't viable. It's now a case of improve or go for Ten Hag. - Mark T
