Onyeka leaves Brentford on loan as Meghoma arrives

Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka has joined German club Augsburg on a season-long loan subject to international clearance.
The Nigeria international, 26, has made 78 appearances for the Bees since arriving from Midtjylland in July 2021.
Onyeka was also the club's first signing on their promotion to the Premier League but departs looking for more game time in the Bundesliga after becoming frustrated by his role as a fringe player in west London.
“Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that," said Bees manager Thomas Frank.
“He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect."
Meanwhile, Brentford have completed a deal to sign 18-year-old left-back Jayden Meghoma from Southampton.
The highly rated England youth international joins on a four-year contract, with the option to extend by a further two, in a move that will reportedly cost, external an initial £5m with a further £5m in add-ons.
Meghoma is Brentford’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Igor Thiago, Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg and Gustavo Nunes.
