Burton sign striker Orsi from Crawley

Danilo Orsi scored 25 goals in 50 appearances for Crawley Town as the club secured promotion to League One last season

Burton Albion have signed striker Danilo Orsi from Crawley Town on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old scored 25 league goals in 50 matches as the Reds secured promotion to League One last season, netting in their play-off final win against Crewe Alexandra at Wembley.

Burton have also signed forward Rumarn Burrell, 23, on a three-year deal from Cove Rangers.

The Brewers survived relegation from League One on the final day of the season and brought in Mark Robinson to replace Martin Paterson as head coach for the new campaign.

They host Lincoln City at the Pirelli Stadium on the opening day of the season.

"I love scoring goals, being in and around the box and getting on the end of things. I love to work hard for the team, running, pressing, high-energy, giving 110% every week and just enjoying playing my football," Orsi told Burton's website.

Much of Orsi's career has been spent playing non-league football at the likes of Hungerford Town, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Maidenhead United before he moved to Harrogate Town in 2021.

A short loan spell at Boreham Wood was followed by a season at Grimsby Town, before he moved to Crawley last summer.

Burrell started his career at Grimsby Town and in 2019 signed for Middlesbrough, with loan spells at Kilmarnock and Bradford City, before permanent moves to Falkirk and then Cove in Scotland.

“I spoke to the Sporting Director [Bendik Hareide] on the phone and he was telling me about all of the exiting changes, as well as the vision and the philosophy of the club, which confirmed my decision and made it an easy choice," he said.
