Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on Estevao: "He is ready to start. But when Estevao starts, the other one is on the bench, and the other one also probably wants to start. We are trying to do the best for Estevao, helping him adapt to England.

"Last week he was complaining about it being too cold; last week was still October, so imagine December and January. He has to adapt, he is happy, doing fantastic and for sure he's a talented player for this club."

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on preparing to face a manager-less team in Wolves: "It's difficult for this reason, it is also difficult because we play Wednesday night - the players were off yesterday, we have a small session today and a game tomorrow.

"So the game plan is also different, but we need to adapt."

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on Romeo Lavia's inability to string together a run of games: "A shame because we are trying to minimise minutes for him, but even with that, it is an injury again. We need to insist until we find another solution."

  7. 'I don't like to think where we are in April'published at 11:35 GMT

Chelsea v Wolves (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on competing for the Premier League title: "I have said many times, I don't like to think where we are in April, May. I only try to think about how we can win tomorrow; this is the only target I have in my mind at the moment.

"If you want to try to compete, we have to think about the next one."

  8. 'Season like a marathon'published at 11:33 GMT

Chelsea v Wolves (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca further elaborated on his need to rotate: "I think football at this moment is a bit different than previous years in terms of physicality and intensity. For me personally, it is impossible to play with the same players 65 games in the same season.

"Years before, it wasn't this physical; I played, and now it has changed. So you need to rotate.

"This is my personal view, and you need to do that if you see a season like a marathon. And then when you are in February or March, then probably we have to think in a different way.

"But at the moment, I think you have to think like a long race."

  9. Players have to question Chelsea rotation - Rooneypublished at 11:30 GMT

For those of you who missed what Wayne Rooney had to say, look no further...

The former Manchester United captain said Chelsea's senior players should "question" Enzo Maresca's team selections.

The Italian made seven changes to his starting XI for the 2-2 draw against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday.

It was the fifth consecutive match across all competitions that Maresca has made at least seven changes to his starting XI.

"The players want to play, they want to build relationships," the former England captain said on the Wayne Rooney Show.

"When you keep chopping and changing then the players won't be happy. I think that will come back to bite them.

"If they are getting results all the time then you can't question it but if they're not, there has to be questions asked."

Rooney believes it is up to captain Reece James and other experienced players in the Chelsea squad to address the issue with Maresca.

"I think most clubs now have a leadership group and as a group you have to go and question the manager," he added.

"You hear people talk about 'player power' but this isn't player power.

"I'd be concerned if the team kept changing. If i was in that [leadership] group I'd be speaking to my team-mates saying 'Look, i'm not happy with this'."

  10. 'When you don't win games, the problem is rotation'published at 11:27 GMT

Chelsea v Wolves (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on Wayne Rooney's comments about rotation: "We are in a moment, in an era, where anyone can say what they want. I completely respect.

"I also said after the Qarabag game that, since I joined the club, it's also my view to rotate players, and no one complained. And the moment that you don't win games, I can understand no one is agreeing.

"I think that when the rotation is Andrey Santo - Brazil international player, Jorrel Hato - Holland international player, Estevao - Brazil international player, it's not about rotation.

"They are good, talented, young, and for sure, when they are young, you have to give them the chance to make some mistakes to be better.

"The same thing I think happened in the past with Josh Acheampong, but I understand that when you don't win games, the problem is rotation and all different things."

  11. Lavia out for Wolvespublished at 11:23 GMT

Chelsea v Wolves (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca on team news ahead of their fixture against Wolves: "We don't have an update at the moment [on Romeo Lavia's injury]. We have to wait a couple of hours to do the checks, but for sure, he is injured. It's painful.

"Pedro [Neto] had a session yesterday with the physio outside on the pitch; it was good. And today he will try with us, and then we will take the final decision."

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the omission of Myles Lewis-Skelly from the England squad: "Yes for sure, I think we are here to support and help each other and to give a good perspective of the situation and in the case of Myles when you look at his age, what he's already done, he's just remarkable.

"So don't look at the one moment what is happening for you because maybe it happens for the right reason and today you cannot see it."

  16. 'It's not about credit' - Artetapublished at 11:07 GMT

Sunderland v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Arsenal

More from Arsenal boss Arteta on if his team are getting enough credit for their performances and position: "It's not about credit, it's about doing it, and once you've done it, do it again, and that's what we have to do."

On an opportunity to further Arsenal's advantage with Liverpool travelling to Manchester City this weekend: "Every weekend is crucial, there are other times for possible results, maybe they are a little more important. But you have to be consistent regardless if you want to achieve your goals."

  17. 'Super optimistic' of fixture changepublished at 11:05 GMT

Sunderland v Arsenal (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal are still due to play at Everton on 21 December in a league fixture and host Crystal Palace in the League Cup two days later but Mikel Arteta says: "Hopefully not. I am super optimistic that this is not going to be the case."

Offering more on the fixture congestion, Arteta said: "From every angle, from the Premier League, from the EFL, from Uefa, all the time the only thing that we talk about is the welfare of the players and the supporters and if we want to maintain that principle that cannot be the case and we cannot play Sunday and Tuesday. So we have very positive talks to the clubs and to the Premier League, and hopefully we'll find a way to help as much as possible."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta describes Sunderland - and former Arsenal - midfielder Granit Xhaka as "one of the best" summer signings and adds: "I loved every minute that we spent together. When he joined he was in a special moment in his life and his career.
