Summary

  1. goal

GOAL - Cliftonville 1-0 Glenavonpublished at 15:17 BST 30 August

    Joe Gormley (17 mins)

It had to be him, didn't it?

Joe Gormley, who just loves scoring against the Lurgan Blues, collects the ball from Rory Hale. His thunderous effort is too powerful for Jacob Carney, who got a touch but was beaten by the sheer force of it. The home side leads.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:17 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

The away side spring forward through Francely Lomboto, who shrugs off Jonny Addis and bursts clean through.

He looks to round PJ Morrison, but the keeper reads it perfectly, spreading himself to smother. Easily the game’s clearest chance.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:15 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

Shea Gordon has gone into the book for a high foot in the Glenavon penalty area. No complaints from the midfielder.

  4. Postpublished at 15:14 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

The visitors threaten from a Jack Malone corner, his inswinger causing panic before the ball ricochets around the six-yard box.

Odhran Casey eventually takes charge, hooking it clear to ease the pressure on the Reds.

  5. Postpublished at 15:13 BST 30 August

    Glentoran 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Glentoran threaten for the first time this afternoon.

Jordan Stewart with a clever ball down the left flank that finds James Singleton, but his cross is too deep and goes all the way out on the far side for a Carrick throw-in.

  6. Postpublished at 15:13 BST 30 August

    Bangor 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

Starting debutant Tiernan Kelly's shot from the edge of the box is wide of the right hand post.

Not too much to talk about during the opening 15 minutes.

  7. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

The hosts with a promising free-kick on the edge of the area.

Michael Glynn steps up, gets the ball up and over the wall well, but it just won't dip in time and sails over for a goal-kick. The former Larne man will be disappointed not to have hit the target from there.

  8. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

Stephen Mallon weaves through the middle of the park and lays it off to Paul McGovern.

The frontman takes aim with a first-time effort from outside the box, but it's a tame one, rolling harmlessly wide of the post.

  9. Postpublished at 15:08 BST 30 August

    Glentoran 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Evenly balanced at the Oval so far.

Both sides struggling to get any kind of passing game going due to the stormy conditions.

  10. 'Players won't mind wet conditions'published at 15:08 BST 30 August

    Glentoran 0-0 Carrick Rangers

    Oran Kearney
    Former Coleraine manager on Sportsound

Although we don't tend to like the rain I'd say the players will not mind it in terms of the conditions for this match to be played.

  11. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

Harry Wilson finds a yard of space outside the area and decides to pull the trigger from 20 yards out.

It's a low drive, but it's straight at Jacob Carney, who gets down easily to gather.

  12. Postpublished at 15:06 BST 30 August

    Bangor 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

A Dungannon corner is misjudged by multiple blue shirts at the edge of the box and is cleared by the home side.

I think the fact that it is absolutely chucking it down will have an impact on the game here.

  13. Postpublished at 15:05 BST 30 August

    Cliftonville 0-0 Glenavon

There's a real change in shape for the Reds.

Jim Magilton has favoured a back three since his appointment, but today his side are lined up in a four.

Odhran Casey has been moved from defence into midfield, and you'd imagine he's been tasked with adding a bit more physicality and thrust to the engine room.

After treatment, both are able to continue though.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:59 BST 30 August

Can Dungannon Swifts pick up their first three points of the season or will Bangor register their second home league win of the campaign?

Glentoran v Carrick Rangers (15:00 BST)

Somethings don't change in Belfast, one of those things is the weather - it is absolutely teeming down at the Oval - and the other thing today is the lineups of these two sides.

Both Glentoran boss Declan Devine and Stephen Baxter of Carrick Rangers name unchanged teams from last week's games against Crusaders and Dungannon Swifts respectively.

The Glens top the table with four wins from four, with Rangers three positions back, but they too have a 100% record from their three outings.

Devine will be glad to see David Fisher and Pat Hoban return to the bench today to add some attacking impetus if required.

Former Glentoran defender Luke McCullough captains Baxters men also.

Glentoran: Mills, Cooney, Kane (c), Kelly, Palmer, Stewart, McEleney, Burt, Amos, Singleton, Jenkins.

Subs: Urminsky, Fisher, Douglas, Hoban, Ferris, Lindsay, Russell.
