After the 10-men of Lyon you would think you have a spare man on the pitch and that should be a straightforward situation for Manchester United to manage the game, but it was the opposite.

From 2-0 up to 2-3 down against 10 men.

This just about sums up Manchester United's wretched season.

The subs are on the pitch, the whole bench is on the pitch!

Rayan Cherki the best player in a white shirt. He's a quality player. Man Utd unpicked, hard and low into the bottom corner.

Andre Onana rooted to the spot and there's nothing he can do.

    Astonishing scenes!

The 10-men have the lead and Old Trafford is shell-shocked.

It all comes from a great run by Malick Fofana with the ball eventually bobbling to Rayan Cherki who finishes from about 16 yards.

Andre Onana was rooted to his line.

I haven't missed an opportunity to mock or criticise Spurs this year but you have to give credit where it's due. Thoroughly impressive performance in an extremely difficult atmosphere and who's to say they can't win it from here.

Manchester United haven't created too much in extra time.

Would Lyon settle for penalties right now?

The 10-men have posed more of an attacking threat in extra time.

The most popular button in the press box tonight is delete. Rewrite. So many headlines have been written, and rewritten!

Lyon are going to try manage their way through. It's not often you get a quality game in extra-time as players are leggy.

If it goes to penalties, it's an opportunity missed from Manchester United.

    Nizaar Kinsella

Chelsea supporters delivered some half-hearted boos at the full-time whistle.

It was perhaps a message that this performance was not good enough, especially given Chelsea picked such a strong line up that included Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella.

It was also not the most aggressive reaction with Chelsea through to a semi-final.

What a big night that is for Ange Postecoglou, who lives to fight another day after this narrow win at Eintracht Frankfurt.

If defeat here would have cost him his job, then his players have worked wonders for him tonight.

You’d imagine now Postecoglou will remain at the helm until the Europa League final.

What happens if they win it? Can Tottenham really sack him after winning a trophy?

Every single player put in a shift tonight. The goalkeeper did what he needed to do. It was a very professional performance.

Full credit to them because they went out with a game plan, stuck to the game plan and got the result they needed.

They're now in a semi-final, another part of the job done and they've got to go again.
