It's a really difficult league. I think between the likes of Durham, Charlton, Birmingham and London City themselves, they've been fighting.

That top spot has been changed throughout the season. It's been a really competitive league throughout and it's exciting it went down to the final day to find out who was champion..

I think when you look across a season what this London City team have done, the players they've brought in and the direction they want to take the team in, it's probably the right team to come up to the WSL next season. I'm excited to see what they can do, especially with all the investment.

Incredible moment, you can just see the jubilation of the players, that's all the hard work they've put in across the season. It's difficult to climb out of a different level to their next level but they have to relish and enjoy this moment. Its a massive moment for Jocelyn Precheur too.

Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor, speaking to BBC One: "When you want to be a competitive team you have to have this mentality. Two games left, one more now. We want to go unbeaten, I told players before the game I want to come here and have a good performance and get three points. When you are competitive team, you want to win every game."

On rotating the team: "Proud of them. We rotated a lot. Some opportunities to some players to show themselves for the FA Cup final. Really well done. We have depth in the squad and that's about it today. They were able to win today all together."

On having one day to prepare for Spurs: "One day to prepare, that was really difficult. I gave them the most clarity I can. We practiced before but also you also rely on their quality and talent. They can play all together in a nice way without me telling them a lot.

On what she has learnt about the WSL: "Before I joined I knew it was competitive but being part of it I feel it is the most competitive league. The players have such high standards that they set for themselves, so in terms of performance levels they always want to match that. Ultimately, the goal of staying unbeaten, they're achieving that with one game to go.

They're in a cup final and they'll look ahead to that to add another trophy to the cabinet. They're on course and got the job done in a professional manner.

  17. 'This Chelsea team can win ugly'published at 16:22 British Summer Time

    FT: Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

    Fara Williams
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Two

It's the ninth game Chelsea have won by only one goal. I think it shows how tough it is when they come up against teams like Tottenham that want to make it difficult. They've made the changes today, we expected the game to look different.

It's the most times they've won by a one goal margin in the last six seasons where they've won the WSL. It's been a different season, a more difficult season.

They've found a way of winning and that's the most important. You can be the prettiest of teams and get results as and when and pick up no trophies, but this Chelsea team can win ugly and at times not look easy on the eye. But, at the end of the day, they win silverware and have comfortably done it this season with two games to spare.
